Telecom & Pay TV

Commercial execution for telecom’s changing revenue model

Telecom and Pay TV businesses face two pressures at once: established revenue is under strain while enterprise, connectivity and digital services need different propositions, buying paths and commercial motions.

This page is for operators defending established revenue, teams commercialising new services, vendors navigating carrier buying groups, and businesses entering markets with different regulatory and partner requirements.

nGülam works alongside internal teams to map the buying group, clarify stakeholder value, establish deal cadence and transfer the process into day-to-day execution.

Two fronts

Accelerated time-to-revenue
The Telecom Commercial Challenge

Established revenue is under pressure while new services need a different commercial motion

Where telecom commercial teams get stuck:

  • Pressure on established revenue: Legacy services may face commoditisation while enterprise, connectivity and digital propositions require a different value story and buying path.

  • Long-cycle, multi-stakeholder buying: Buyers may face long cycles because technical, commercial, procurement and financial decisions must progress through validation and approval.

  • Propositions without a buying path: A technically sound service can still lack a clear stakeholder map, qualification model, evidence plan and route from validation to decision.

  • Partners without an operating motion: Access alone does not progress a complex deal. Partner roles, account ownership, handoffs and cadence need to be explicit.

  • Market-entry variation: Regulatory, privacy, certification, procurement and ecosystem requirements differ by market and need local validation.

FAQ

We separate the established revenue base from the services being commercialised next. The work can include clarifying the proposition, identifying the buying group, reviewing pricing and packaging choices, and defining the route to market for enterprise, connectivity or digital services. Priorities are agreed with the internal team against the commercial context and capabilities already in place.

We treat 12–18 months as the buyer's stated cycle context, not as a universal benchmark or a promised result. We map technical, commercial, procurement and financial stakeholders; define validation and decision gates; agree evidence requirements; and assign owners and next steps at each stage. This provides a clearer view of progression and where a deal is stalled.

We incorporate market-specific requirements into the commercial plan rather than treating the US or EU as a single launch template. That includes identifying relevant regulatory, privacy, certification, procurement and partner dependencies, with specialist legal or regulatory review where required. nGülam does not replace legal or regulatory counsel; its role is to make the commercial dependencies and decisions explicit.

A fractional engagement can provide senior commercial leadership for a defined mandate without assuming a permanent role. Scope, decision rights, working cadence, interfaces with the internal team and handover are agreed at the outset. The right model depends on the work required and the capability already in place.

AI-enabled GTM execution is a separately scoped capability. We do not make a telecom-specific AI performance claim on this page; any use would be assessed against the available data, defined workflow, governance and review requirements.
